Covid-19 Update #1

Good Morning,

I hope everyone is still staying safe and healthy as we continue to navigate thru Covid-19.  I wanted to send a note to provide an update on our Little League Season. As you all have seen the Capital District has moved into Phase 1 of the state re-opening plan. While this is good news and moving in the right direction, we still are in a waiting period as recreation falls under Phase 4 of the plan. We do not have a set time of when that will mean we can get into the parks and start playing yet.

Our plan is to still have a season that will likely run thru summer months (July - Aug, maybe Sept).  If this timeframe does not work for your family, please contact me at [email protected] as we have a few options including a refund or a donation to the Little League.  If your family is available to play through the summer months and potentially into Fall, then no email is needed.

Little League International has provided the SG Little League Board with some guidance on starting our season throughout the summer and continuing through the fall if needed.
The League Board has been in constant communication and will continue to follow the guidelines from the State, CDC, and Little League International.  I have researched what some other states (who have already opened back up) have been doing for their league and tournament play from a safety perspective to help guide us in our starting of a season. Myself and the Board are working on a re-opening procedure with guidelines and safety precautions to assure the safety for all our players, coaches, parents, fans and volunteers. I ask that you please be patient with us as new information comes out we update our plans a quickly as possible.

Just to reiterate, we have NOT cancelled our season. As soon as we have a date in which we can safely start baseball activities we will communicate that out.

Below is the site to Little League International which provides updates and an FAQs for your information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to myself or any board member.

Thank you for your understanding,
